Our bespoke armchairs are handmade by master upholsterers in our own Hampshire workshops, giving you complete control over every detail. From the Albert to the Jubilee, Turnberry to the Sorrento, each chair in our collection can be tailored to your exact specifications. Choose from thousands of fabrics including renowned brands like Romo, Colefax & Fowler and Sanderson, then select your preferred cushion fillings from firm foam options to luxurious feather and down.
With various foot styles available, from traditional wooden bun feet to modern glides, your bespoke fabric armchair becomes a true reflection of your taste. Built with solid beech frames and backed by our 25-year structural guarantee, these chairs combine comfort with lasting quality. Choose from a range of foam seat cushions, named Gold (medium-soft), Pink (medium), Domed (firm), Blue (extra firm) OR we offer a feather wrapped foam, a quilted fibre wrapped foam, feather and down (additional cost), feather and fibre, or quollofil rolled fibre options.
Choose from a range of back cushions, as standard which is a quollofil rolled fibre filling, or a feather and down filling (additional cost).
Available with wooden bun feet or square feet in various colours, castors with a skirt, glides (fixed feet) with a skirt.
We offer various accessories to compliment your new sofa including footstools, armcaps, scatter cushions, filler cushions (to reduce the depth of the seat). We can also offer this model with a bolt-on arm, to make it easier for access to your chosen room (additional cost on certain models).
As our Bowes & Hill furniture range is completely bespoke, we require a visit to the showroom to place your order.
All our sofas are handmade to order. There will be variations in our manufacturing process which means we can never guarantee 100% accuracy with any dimension. We can expect a variation of up to 5cm, either way, with any size.

Delivered by our own transport, all our items will be delivered to your room of choice, with all packaging and coverings removed and disposed of. Delivery cost varies depending on distance from our HQ. We can dispose of your old furniture at an extra cost. Please call our team to enquire.

The bolt-on arm option available on certain designs also makes delivery through tricky access points much simpler.
Your bespoke armchair journey begins with a showroom visit where we'll discuss your requirements and take you through fabric samples, cushion options, and design details. Our team will help you understand the differences between our chair styles, from the Albert to the Jubilee, Turnberry to the Sorrento. Once you've selected your fabric and specifications, our skilled framemakers begin construction using solid beech, with all joints glued, screwed, and dowelled for strength. The frame receives 9-gauge serpentine springs, hand-clipped by our master upholsterers to ensure even support. Padding and cushion fillings are then applied according to your chosen comfort level, before your selected fabric is expertly fitted with attention to pattern matching and seam placement. The entire process takes approximately 8 weeks for standard dimensions or 12 weeks for bespoke sizing. We deliver using our own transport team, who'll hand deliver your furniture into your chosen room and also dispose of all the packaging.
