Natural Characteristics of Leather
Most things created by nature are really hard to improve, and even if you could, why would you want to?
Leathers are a thing of beauty. Each individual hide has unique characteristics and markings which tell the story of its life. No
two hides will be the same as no two animals will be the same in size or shape. The colour and texture will vary. This will
occur as the drying proccess and finish penetration will differ however carefully applied.
Common natural markings which are unique to each hide tell the story of the life of the amimal. The most common are
illustrated below. These are not faults, they are the natural hallmarks of quality!

Full Grain, Aniline Dyed Natural Products
What does that mean?
- Only 5-8% of a tannery's production will meet the grade criteria for a Full Grain, Aniline dyed
hide
- Only the best cow/bull hides are selected.
- Aniline dyed hides are soked in a special "Aniline Solution" (used to enhance the grain and colour,
retaining the character and definition of each hide). These are rotated in the drums for maximum softness and breathability
- Leathers are skilfully selected by expert cutters, who carefully lay out and cut the furniture patterns.
This enables the product to reflect the beauty and character of the hide.
- Each piece of furniture has a unique individual look
